Robert Larrabee has garnered a worldwide reputation as a top impersonator.
Dubbed "The Man of 100 Voices", Larrabee?s been doing An Evening with the Legends performances since 1989. This was not his first visit to Cold Lake, as he also had two soldout shows here three years ago.
In his show at the Cold Lake Agriplex on Feb. 15, Larrabee -
He did portrayals of numerous iconic performers, including Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, Dean Martin and many others.
Despite repeating these same impersonations and songs for the past 20 years, his shows are anything but routine. He keeps his shows fresh by doing some improvisations with the audience, which obviously change with every show. More actor than singer, a highlight of Larrabee?s performance was when he went through the audience identifying audience members who resemble famous celebrities.
Other favourites involving audience interaction are the Blues Brothers? Soul Man and Ritchie Valens? Donna where he selects audience members to accompany him on stage.

COLD LAKE -
Born Reginald Dwight, he hooked up with songwriter Bernie Taupin and beginning with his debut in 1969, began one of pop?s most successful duos in music history.
Elton John?s impact on the scene was immediate, with a string of top 10 hits during the early to mid 1970s, including ?Crocodile Rock,? ?Saturday Night?s Alright For Fighting,? ?Daniel,? and ?Honky Cat,? among a dozen others.
His stage presence was full of flamboyant costumes and elaborate stage props, making his live shows a spectacle of the time.
He had a second coming in the early 80?s that really stretched into the next decade. A slightly toned down image and a more mature song nature, but had a second long run at the charts, including ?Little Jeanie, ?Empty Gardens (Hey Hey Johnny),?Kiss The Bride,? and ?Who Wears These Shoes?, and ?Goodbye England?s Rose,? a tribute to Princess Diana.
The song was actually enjoying a third life, a remake of his 1974 Marilyn Monroe tribute, ?Candle In The Wind.?

Elton John has also written for a number of movie soundtracks, including 1994?s Disney smash, ?The Lion King.?
John received a knighthood from the Queen in 1997 at the age of 50 for his musical
contributions, as well as his never-
Robert Larrabee has gained a reputation for being ?The Man of 100 Voices,? and was actually doing Elton John years before he ever envisioned his solo improv act.
?I had been singing Elton John for years,? he reminisced.
?I actually did a few of his songs in my first top 40 band back in the late 80s. I decided to incorporate him (in An Evening With the Legends) about five years ago,? Larrabee added.
Although he?s also an accomplished songwriter, Larrabee is content with one of the most entertaining ?improv styled tributes? on the scene.
?I think at 40 years of age the original music opportunity has passed me by,? he said, but added, ?I am going back into the studio to redo a few songs and I am planning on releasing some music at my shows.?
Elton John is just one of the elements to An Evening With The Legends, where he also performs skits featuring such other artists as Dean Martin, Roy Orbison, Garth Brooks, Hank Williams and of course, the number one impersonated performer in history ... Elvis!
For Larrabee, the goal while performing is simple, to entertain the crowd. ?People can expect to laugh, at me and at themselves, that?s what makes us all the same,? he claimed, adding, ?They can also expect to hear great songs.?

To say he was a pioneer of modern music is to understate the obvious.

He served his country in the U.S. Army, but it was his ability to entertain on record and in concert and film that makes Elvis the undeniable King of all time, the most impersonated entertainer of all time.
Starring in 31 movies, selling out concerts around the world and earning more gold records than anyone else in history, the man epitomized the word "performer."
Although he?d died a quarter of a century earlier, he still had a #1 hit in 2003 with "A Little Less Conversation." The name "Elvis" has become larger than life and a merchandiser?s dream, with his face on everything from keychains and license plates to dolls and lunch boxes.

Over the years Robert Larrabee has gained a world wide reputation as one of the top impersonators in the business, and had actually headlined Elvis tributes with three different troupes before envisioning the hugely successful "An Evening with the Legends" in 1989.
Larrabee?s love and respect for Elvis is undeniable.
"Elvis Presley is to rock and roll what Muhammad Ali is to boxing,? he exclaimed. ?There is only one that comes along in any profession that has that ultimate impact," he said.
"After almost 30 years after his death he has just had a number one album in 2003 and is the largest selling artist of all time with over a billion records sold. So there is no reason to doubt that Elvis is still The King!"
It would be easy to assume doing largely the same impersonations for 15 years would naturally make "An Evening with the Legends" almost routine. But Larrabee insists that just isn?t the case.
"I keep my show fresh because I always do a lot of improv off audience members, and they are always different every night," he said.
Larrabee noted that a fresh injection of new material also helps. "I also try to learn new songs as much as I can," he commented.
He?s also gained the moniker of "The Man with Over 100 Voices," so he noted that it?s that wide array of characters to draw from that also helps keep the show fresh.
"I have been doing this this long because it involves my true love, acting," Larrabee said, adding he?s also always had a genuine love for all of the artists he portrays in the shows.
